Bring home a piece of Southern or Appalachian folk art with this small ugly face jug from Marvin Bailey. This piece has a yellow, orange, and brown glaze with 5 teeth. Signed twice on the bottom by the maker Marvin Bailey.

Marvin Bailey is a self-taught potter, located in Lancaster, SC. He has been practicing for 16 years and is best known for his ugly face jugs. Face Jugs or Ugly Face Jugs have been a part of Southern folk art since the 1800s coming primarily out of South Carolina, North Carolina, & Georgia. They've also found their way into the Appalachian sub-culture. There are multiple stories and folk lore surrounding them, but over the years they've become sought-after collectibles.

This jug measures 4" across, 4.5" deep, and 4.5 inches tall. Each jug is handmade and unique.
